Purpose Built Voiceover Studio

My Voiceover studio is bespoke and optimised to produce Broadcast Quality Audio for visual and non visual media. Its located in a purpose built extension to our family home, a quiet residential street in rural Hampshire, UK.

Initially torn between having a Voiceover Booth within the studio, or applying sound treatment to the whole room, I went with the latter.

By making good use of both Absorption and Diffusion Acoustic Treatment, I’ve created a studio that retains its ambience, whilst removing unwanted reverb.

This allows me the freedom to move around, be expressive with character work and record video if necessary.

Conscious that this is an extension to the family home, aesthetics were important, not only because I dis-like black foam, but I spend long hours in here recording audiobooks, eLearning Courses and Audioguides, so a pleasant working environment helps get the creative process going.

With a background in Audio Production, an array of acting skill and a formidable arsenal of post production tools, this studio delivers premium quality audio for clients, looking to attract, connect and engage listeners with their creative content.

I’m able to support remote dial in with Source Connect Standard, or any preferred means that a client has.

My approach to audio production is one where I don’t fix it in the mix. I learned this the hard way as a Music Producer and my focus is on achieving the optimum levels from the outset. This allows me to progress through a templated chain of settings in post production which can be adjusted, depending on the style and tone of the material.

My mixing approach is reductive rather than additive and I achieve excellent Noise Floor levels, checked with RX Audio Editor, to meet the demands of the most discerning of clients.

Open backed Sennheiser Headphones give me the neutral response I need when playing back.

The combination of a quiet, rural setting and great acoustic treatment, as well as hardware optimised for noise reduction, broadcast quality audio is assured.
